Northumbria University have supported a PhD Studentship for Blyth which has just recently gone to advert.

 

For the first time, Northumbria's funded PhD studentships can be applied to on a part or full time basis, which makes them much more inclusive.

 

A summary

• Northumbria University is advertising a PhD Studentship relating to the understanding and development of community-based Arts/Health approaches, to be supervised by Dr Ian Robson (principal supervisor), Dr. Melanie Gibson and Dr. Donna Carlisle, who are based in the Department of Social Work, Education and Community Wellbeing.

 

• A PhD Studentship is a doctoral level research opportunity, linked to a funded project.

 

• Applicants would have to have a good first degree (2:1) or equivalent from a non UK Higher Education Institution.

 

• Applicants also need to qualify to be a home student - i.e., a UK National, or have settled status / pre-settled status, or have been given indefinite leave to remain / enter the UK.

 

• The successful candidate would be paid a stipend (a fixed amount of money provided to cover living costs and basic expenses associated with study). For full time PhD studentships in the current academic year (20/21), the stipend is £15,609 per annum. Study fees will also be funded directly by Northumbria University.

 

• The successful candidate would start in October 2022.

 

• Applications but be accompanied by a 1,000 word research proposal, setting out the candidates' proposed approach, focus and (broad) plan which responds to the advert text (see the link below).
