New Mayor appointed for Blyth Town Council

Council News

At the Blyth Town Council AGM on 12th May 2022, Councillor Warren Taylor was elected as Mayor for the second time.

Having enjoyed his time as Mayor in 2019 and 2020, Mayor Taylor said, “I’m delighted and humbled to return to the role of supporting the Council and residents with their work within the community. There are a lot of exciting projects underway in the area, and I will work hard to promote these and the people of Blyth.”

Mayor Warren Taylor was heavily involved in the Operation Elf campaign created by Blyth Town Council in early 2019. During COVID, the scheme ensured that local children received Christmas gifts and that local food banks could support residents in difficulty when needed. Mayor Taylor, a keen advocate for Charities and community groups, takes over from Mayor Margaret Richardson, who championed Blyth in 2021.

Councillor Kath Nisbet was also elected as Deputy Mayor and will work closely with Mayor Taylor until May 2023.
