Blyth Council completes refurbishment of South Beach play area

Council News Blyth Town News

Mayor Warren Taylor officially opened the newly designed children's play area in the South Beach ward on Thursday, 13th October. The facilities, superbly tested by Bede Academy (South) students Arlo, Daisy, and Emily, have been updated to include 27 play activities for young residents aged 1 to 12.

The students, supervised by Mr Jason Cochrane, tried all the activities and were thanked by Mayor Taylor and the councillors for their help in officially opening the play area before being escorted safely back to school.

The play area, opposite Bede Academy (South), is part of the council's ongoing commitment to help improve the lives of young people in the Blyth Area.

Mayor Taylor said, "We as a council are looking at numerous ways we can improve existing services and add new ones for the residents of Blyth. Ensuring children have a safe and accessible area to play in is a must for a community-driven local authority. We've upgraded three over the past few years and will continue to do so wherever possible."
