BLYTH TOWN COUNCIL PRECEPT 2023/24

Council News Services News

Blyth Town Council agreed on their spending plans for 2023/24 at the Council Meeting on 12th January 2023.

Despite high inflation, the Town Council will maintain the good services they deliver but increase the cost to the taxpayer by the very modest amount of 3% on a Band D property, which goes from £130.19 to £134.10 per annum and equates to about 8 pence per week.

Most properties in the town are in a lower property band and will have lower increases than a Band D property.

Mayor Warren Taylor said, ‘As a Town Council, we are no different to many organisations and individuals in having to cope with the current extremely difficult financial climate. However, having worked hard to make cuts in our expenditure, we have been able to keep the increase in our Precept to an absolute minimum whilst maintaining the services we offer’.
