Blyth Town Council have announced that this year’s media partner for the Blyth Live Festival will be Frisk Radio, a rapidly growing commercial radio station based in the town.

This year's festival, taking place on June 17th at Blyth beach has secured an impressive line-up headlined by 1990’s super bands Liberty X and 911.

Liberty X gained widespread recognition after their appearance on the TV show "Popstars." With their debut single 'Thinking It Over' reaching the Top Five charts, they set the stage for a remarkable career. Their debut album sold over a million copies worldwide, establishing them as one of the most successful bands of their time.

Joining Liberty X on stage, 911, will captivate the audience with their infectious music. Having released their debut single, 'Night To Remember,' in 1996, 911 went on to achieve nine successive UK Top 10 hits, selling an impressive 10 million singles and six million albums globally.

As media partners, Frisk Radio will play a crucial role in spreading the word about the festival, ensuring that its dedicated listeners and the wider community are well-informed and excited about the upcoming event. Frisk Radio is committed to supporting and celebrating local events that contribute to the vibrant culture of Blyth. Through this partnership with the Blyth Live Festival, Frisk Radio continues its mission to provide exceptional entertainment experiences.

“We are delighted that Frisk Radio has been chosen as the media partner for the Blyth Live festival. It’s great that the Town Council have opted to work with a local broadcaster, who can reach listeners across the North East. This years’ artist line-up is superb, with headliners 911 and Liberty X being well loved amongst our audience from their teenage days,” said Stuart Landreth of Frisk Radio.

Mayor of Blyth Town Council, Cllr Warren Taylor, expressed his excitement for the festival,

"Blyth Live presents an excellent chance for families to attend and enjoy a fantastic day together. We’re anticipating a turnout of approximately 15,000 and the event will serve as a wonderful showcase for Blyth, attracting both locals and tourists alike. We are delighted to welcome Frisk Radio too as we believe that it is important to partner with local businesses and organisations.”

In addition to the outstanding musical performances, the Blyth Live Festival will feature captivating street theatre, delectable food options, and a funfair.
